Intensives and Conferences

Although Cherry Hill Seminary coursework is by distance education, periodically our students have the opportunity to meet faculty and classmates face-to-face.  These are occasions of close camaraderie, discussion, bonding, mentoring and experiential learning.

Each student is required to complete two or three such Academic Intensives before graduation, depending on the particular program. Typically, Academic Intensives require readings and homework in the several weeks before and after the face-to-face portion. Academic Intensive gatherings are four-to-seven days long, depending on the topic, and are held in various retreat locations.

An Academic Intensive is currently held each summer in Massachusetts;  as the Seminary grows, we will add intensives in other regions and at other times of the year.  Please see the student handbook for the intensive attendance requirements of each degree.  Note that Academic Intensives are only open to matriculated degree-seeking students.

A second face-to-face learning opportunity is a Cherry Hill Seminary Conference.  These are most often a one-two day meeting in a conference setting.  The general public is invited to join our students for conferences.  We look forward to expanding locations for Cherry Hill Seminary Conferences as we grow.
